My Gear
Below you will find a collection of gear that I use to shoot photography and video. I limit my gear and use as much natural light as possible so that I can travel more easily. Lugging a ton of gear isn’t fun.

Video
I shoot with Fuji because their color science is unmatched. Decades of experience with analog film has carried over into the digital world. They’re extremely fun to shoot with. There is nothing like messing with a Fuji. I also shoot material with my iPhone 11 Pro Max whenever necessary because sometimes it’s just faster and easier and capturing the moment is the most important part.
Fujifilm X-T4
I am in love with this camera. It solved many of the issues that I had with the X-T3: there is now in-body stabilization, a flip out screen and better battery. (If you’re looking for a cheaper alternative, the X-T3 is still fantastic)
Fujifilm XF-16mm f1.4 Lens
This quickly became my favorite lens to use when sitting down to film myself. I’m warning you, it’s not cheap and you will get more mileage out of the Sigma 18-35mm because of it’s versatility. Still, there is something magical about this piece of glass.
Fujinon XF50-140mm F2.8
What I own to cover my bases on focal lengths. Even though this is a super fun lens to own, I would definitely not consider buying this until you’re totally set with a lens like the Sigma 18-35mm f1.8.
DJI Ronin-SC Gimbal
For all of those sweet, sweet stabilized shots. I throw on the X-T4 with the XF18-55mm lens, because the Sigma 18-35 F1.8 is too heavy for this little guy. I truly believe I have found a dangerous combination. So good.
Fringer EF-FX PRO II Adapter
This adapter allows me to use my Sigma 18-35 f1.8 with my Fujifilm X-T3 and that is an insane combo.
Fujifilm X-T3 w/XF18-55mm Lens Kit - Black
A cheaper alternative to the X-T4, shown above. In July of 2019, I decided to go full Fujifilm (after working with the Panasonic GH5), for both photo and video. This is now the camera that I shoot almost everything with. I haven’t looked back. Dependable autofocus, 4k 60 fps and internal 10 bit are all big wins.
GoPro Hero 7
This little guy is useful when I don’t want to worry about damaging the camera. Incredibly stable footage, it falls apart in low light but works great outside during the day.
Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 Art DC HSM Lens for Canon
I cannot believe this lens exists. It is so fast (constant F1.8 zoom) and tack sharp. It’s what I use for 80% of the shooting of my videos, and it works incredibly well with my Fuji X-T3 and the Fringer Ef-FX adapter (which is necessary to mount this on a Fujifilm camera. Autofocus works great, and gives me really shallow depth of field and a lot of light to work with.
Fujinon XF10-24mmF4 R OIS
This is now my go-to vlogging lens, the width is unbeatable, this lens gives a super wide-reaching look that I love. It’s really fun to use and gives great contrast to intimate, tight shots that I usually gravitate towards.
Mavic Pro II
I used to use the original Mavic Pro (also solid). I have come to find that the jump in quality, however, is massive. An absolutely indispensable tool in my toolkit for filmmaking.
Audio
Sound is just as important as the visuals when it comes to video. These are some travel-friendly options that I feel definitely do the job. Believe it or not, your phone will also do a great job in the right conditions and I’m not afraid to rely on it when limited with options.
Deity V-Mic D3 Pro
Way better than the Rode mics. Note: you will need the ‘Riipoo 3.5mm AUX Audio Cable’ or something equivalent to get this to work with fuji cameras.
Tascam DR-10L
This is a great option to take with you when you’re trying to get good audio while you’re out in the world and can’t control things as well as you might be able to in an office or studio. The DR-10L makes audio super simple and portable and is a reliable backup.
Photography
You don’t need a lot to make magic happen. I shoot a lot of street photography and am often looking to go out with the smaller set-up possible. The X-T4 and the X-T3 (listed above) are both monsters for both photo and video. However, if you’re interested in only photography, here’s what I recommend:
Fujifilm X-E3 Mirrorless Digital Camera
This is the camera that really catapulted me into the world of photography. I originally bought the X100F but then switched it for this little guy because of the interchangeable lens functionality. It is so fun to use, so discreet. I love pretty much everything about it - the film simulations built it, low light capabilities, portability (it’s tiny), ergonomics. Everything. Worth every dollar. I now use it as a back-up/2nd camera to complement my X-T3, as it can shoot in 4k. It’s really made primarily for photography though.
Fujifilm 23mm f2
I like this focal length for street photography quite a bit. Keep in mind that this is a 35mm equivalent on Full Frame since the Fuji X-series cameras have APS-C sized sensors.
